The Let’s Move! Initiative’s goal is to put children on the path to a healthy life by combining parent education, healthy food in schools and an increase in physical activity.
Let's Move Summary:
Because childhood obesity can lead to very serious problems, such as: Type 2 Diabetes, Heart Disease, Asthma, and many others, it is vitally important for everyone to take the necessary steps to prevent this epidemic from continuing. The Let’s Move! initiative brought this important topic to the forefront and made Americans more aware of how disastrous the outcome of this epidemic could become. The initiative has shown some success in the last five years. Many large restaurant chains have begun to offer healthier food options for children, schools across America are now offering healthier lunch options and even food manufacturers are now putting nutrition information on the front of packages to make it easier for consumers to make better choices. So, overall I think that the Let’s Move! campaign has had some definite successes. Future generations will be better off because of it.
