Upside Down Drawing
An activity to introduce countour line. For the upside down drawing students have to look at the image upside down and re-draw it upside down. By drawing the image upside down they are no longer focusing on trying to recreate an eye, nose, and mouth. Instead they are focused on the lines and shapes that make up the image.

For teachers to be able to lead meaningful dance-integrated activities in their classrooms, students must be able to call on basic skills. These activities are designed to help teachers create a safe, enjoyable environment for learning through creative movement.
The kinesphere, or personal space, exercise is simple and easy to facilitate. Students often request to play the "kinesphere game" long after they have learned to control their personal space.
There are also step-by-step instructions for leading students through a focusing and observation game known as mirroring. For both activities, an assessment checklist is included, along with references to national standards in physical education and dance.
