I believe that children learn best in a safe, positive environment that fosters a fun and creative learning experience. I will be a hands-on teacher, working individually with each student recognizing their weaknesses and utilizing their strengths, to help personalize each student’s learning experience. I will implement many different learning styles and strategies in my teaching to help each student’s academic success. My goal is to instill a lifelong love of learning.  As a perspective Elementary school teacher, preferably in the younger grades, my philosophical perspective of education will be based mostly in progressivism and experiential learning.  I feel young children learn best through the process of experience, hands-on activities, project based learning, and collaboration.  I want my students to be fully engaged while learning.  I plan to focus on each child's strengths by implementing many projects based in multiple intelligences, and provide students with the freedom of guided choice to perform a task in the way that works best for them.  I will promote a growth mindset, focusing more on the efforts and process that is put into learning, rather than just the outcome. I want my students to approach challenging topics not as something that is difficult and unsolvable, but instead as something that is a fun challenge that will expand their minds and is most definitely something that they can solve. I want each of my students to be confident in their abilities in order to reach their full potential. Childhood is an exciting time of growth and development; as a teacher, I will focus on not only academics but social skills, life skills, teamwork, problem solving, and self-awareness to name a few. My lessons will be active, engaging, hands on, integrate technology into the classroom, and most importantly FUN!   In my classroom students will not be afraid to make mistakes, ask questions, or to be challenged; each student will be accepted, respected for their uniqueness and encouraged to express themselves.  My role as a teacher will be to educate my students, and to make sure they are safe, learning, and having fun.  I will do my best to inspire my students, encourage them, and help to guide them.  It is my greatest goal to make a difference in the lives of the students I come into contact with.
